How much do you engage with your clients over social media and with what social brands do they connect? The more you learn about your clients and their behaviors and habits, the better you can reach them.

Use social media as one of your tools to find them so you can connect with them in a meaningful way. It’s also a strategy that your business can include to start a conversation on how you can help solve their challenges.

Social Brands and Social Media Channels are Exploding

There is no shortage of how people can connect via social media. The usual suspects such as Twitter and Facebook are sites that exist for the purpose of connecting people. However, we are in the midst of a social media explosion. Brands are realizing that they could benefit more if they create their own social hub.

I always found it funny (both haha and strange) how companies would add not just their social media ‘handle’ on business cards and other sales promotion tools, but also include these other social media logos (Twitter logo, Facebook logo, etc…) to them. Really? Since when do we promote another business on our own business card?

Companies are starting to wake up and smell the virtual coffee. The Top three social media brands for 2012, according to Infegy, are Twitter, Apple, and Facebook (for all the data check out Infegy‘s website.)

Apple, at number two on the list, thanks to the legacy and founding force of Steve Jobs, has a knack for driving its brand to places where its customers want to go. And, creating its own successful social media hub is no exception.

According to Advertising Age:

“The posts examined come from three sources, according to Infegy’s CEO Justin Graves. The Twitter firehose and public Facebook posts (roughly 1 to 2 million each day) account for roughly 60% of the data, while blogs and news sites where people are leaving comments make up the other 40%. Infegy’s web crawler is largely looking for RSS feeds in the latter instance.”
